American Indian and Alaska Native Programs

Healthy Nations Initiative Video Highlights

In 1998 the National Program Office of the Healthy Nations Initiative, with funding and support from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, decided to create a video highlighting the Healthy Nations program. The Healthy Nations Video, which was filmed and produced by Phil Lucas Productions, Inc. of Issaquah, WA, has served as a a useful tool in educating key stakeholders about the Healthy Nations Initiative and substance abuse programming in native communities. The video is being used by many of the fourteen Healthy Nations grantees in promotion of their programming and is a valuable tool in their efforts to raise additional resources to continue their substance abuse activities after funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation expires. Regretfully because of limited space, we were only able to highlight four of the fourteen Healthy Nations grantees . The grantees that are highlighted include the Seattle Indian Health Board, the Minneapolis American Indian Center, the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, and United Indian Health Services. Following are several still images from the video.
