1998 North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, Ph.D. majoring in Counselor Education minoring in Psychology, Dissertation: A Validation of Helms' People of Color Racial Identity Attitude Scale with a Native-American College Student Population

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1996-Present Academic Advisor/Instructor, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching three sections of the Multidisciplinary Studies course for freshmen students admitted to the First Year College, academic advising of these students, assist in the development of a career development component, assisting in the implementation of the academic difficulty report, administering assessments and program evaluations. Designed and taught a 1-hour course entitled Native-American Identity which is restricted to Native- American freshmen
1994-1996 Academic Advisor/Orientation Instructor, Pembroke State University, Pembroke, North Carolina. Responsibilities included but were not limited to teaching sections of the Freshman Seminar course, assisting in the coordination of the academic advisement office, academic advisement, conducting Academic Success Workshops and Seminars, training faculty in academic advisement, recruiting faculty to teach Freshman Seminar course and to advise, coordinate and implement the Early Alert Program aimed at contacting students in academic difficulty, assisting in the implementation of the academic difficulty report, designing program brochures and flyers, and administering program evaluation.
